Ingredients
Making the world’s finest toothpaste starts with the ingredients. Every component of our toothpaste is carefully selected to serve a unique purpose in our formula. Before each production run, several layers of quality control testing ensure that every ingredient that ends up in your tube is of the highest possible quality.
Rennou™
The active ingredient that serves as a direct replacement for fluoride. Rennou™ supports rapid remineralisation of tooth enamel on contact. It is a carefully calculated combination of theobromine, calcium and phosphate. Unlike fluoride, Rennou™ is completely non-toxic and safe if swallowed.
Aqua/Water/Eau
Serves as the primary vehicle for all other ingredients.
Hydrated silica
Acts as a thickener, mild abrasive and whitening agent.
Xylitol
Acts as a mild sweetener and helps prevent bacterial growth on tooth enamel.
Sorbitol
Acts as a thickener and flavour enhancer.
Glycerin
Helps retain moisture and improves mouthfeel.
Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate
Acts as a foaming agent and detergent – a safer alternative to SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate).
Xanthan gum
Thickener, emulsifier and stabiliser.
Titanium dioxide
Used in small concentrations to improve the colour of the toothpaste.
Citric acid
Used to stabilise the formula and enhance the flavour.
Sodium bicarbonate
Used as a mild abrasive to remove dental plaque.
Sodium benzoate
Used as a preservative to prevent the growth of microorganisms in the tube.
Stevioside (stevia)
Used as a plant-based sweetener.
Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil
Gives the product a refreshing mint flavour. Used in Theodent Classic and Theodent 300.
Natural flavour / aroma (chocolate)
Gives Theodent Kids toothpaste its distinctive chocolate flavour that children love.
Vanilla flower extract (Vanilla Planifolia)
Used in small amounts to improve the overall taste.
